2 pounds lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 pound mushrooms, sliced
1, 14 ounce can diced tomatoes
1 pound bag mixed frozen vegetables
1 packet onion soup mix
1 ½ cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
2 tablespoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup Wondra flour or all purpose flour
4 cups prepared mashed potatoes
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Brown ground beef thoroughly over medium heat with salt and pepper in a deep skillet.
Add mushrooms, onion, garlic, celery and marjoram and sauté’ until the onions are
translucent and the mushrooms have softened.
Add in tomatoes, parsley and frozen vegetable stirring well to combine.
Add in onion soup mix and water making sure to combine all the dry mix.
Add in Worcestershire sauce along with the Kitchen Bouquet and stir well.
Add in Wondra or regular flour and turn the heat to medium high to allow the gravy to
thicken.
Remove from heat and transfer the meat filling mixture into a 9 x 13 casserole or baking
pan.
Divide filling into individual foil pans.
Top meat mixture with warm, prepared mashed potatoes, spreading evenly to cover.
op the potatoes with shredded cheddar cheese.
Seal and label then freeze solid. Store for up to 3 months in the freezer.
To bake: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Remove lid and place the pie on a baking sheet.
Bake individual shepherd’s pie for 30 to 45 minutes until heated through and topping is lightly browned.
Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
