Meet Noreen!
Welcome to Noreen’s Kitchen!
I’m so happy you’re here. Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and stay awhile. This little corner of the internet is all about comforting recipes, vintage inspiration, family traditions, and simple joys from the kitchen and home. Whether you’re looking for an old-fashioned favorite, a bit of encouragement, or just a cozy place to visit, I hope you feel right at home here.
Real Food for Real People, Real Easy.
3 cups chocolate chips
1-14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Step by Step Instructions
Add the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt to a large microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave in short intervals, stirring well after each one, until the chocolate is almost completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Be careful not to overheat it.
Stir in the vanilla extract and toasted nuts.
Spread the fudge mixture evenly into a parchment-lined pan. Allow it to cool and set completely before lifting it from the pan and cutting it into squares.
Store the finished fudge in an airtight container.
You can leave out the nuts for plain chocolate fudge or substitute your favorite toasted nuts.
COOK’S NOTE: The salt in this recipe is adjustable, but I kept it at a full teaspoon because it offsets the semisweet chips and sweetness of the condensed milk.
You can use this recipe for other flavors of fudge as well by subbing out the chocolate chips for peanut butter, butterscotch, white chocolate or chocolate mint. You can use whatever nuts you like and even add in other things like chopped Oreos, M&Ms or caramel bits.
